Meet Steve

“Serving a purpose greater than myself.”

It's been our family motto since we had kids, and I've lived my entire adult life by that one guiding principle. It’s a motto that has shaped my path as a combat-decorated U.S. Air Force veteran, dedicated father, and committed public servant.Now, I am ready to bring that same servant’s heart to the Texas House of Representatives by fighting for families, students, and hardworking Texans across HD93.My wife, Shannon, and I are lifelong Tarrant County residents and have proudly called Fort Worth home for 18 years. And as a three-term school board trustee, I've had a front-row seat to the needs and opportunities facing Texas families today.But my journey into public service didn't begin in a boardroom. It started in the school hallways. Determined to be the father I didn’t have growing up, I restarted a volunteer program for dads at my kids' school. In just two years, I grew the program from just a handful of dads into a 200-dad force for good. This sparked a motivation to serve beyond my own children’s classrooms, and I ran for Northwest ISD Board of Trustees in 2017.Under my leadership, NISD has met the demands of rapid growth while staying focused on excellence, opportunity, and fiscal responsibility. I know that education is the backbone of a thriving Texas and that local schools deserve strong, informed advocates in Austin.From protecting our country overseas to protecting our children’s future at home, I’ve never backed away from a fight that matters. Let's take that fight to the Capitol.
